We've seen three pairs of MLS players and eMLS pros battle their way to the semifinals of the eMLS Tournament Special presented by Coca-Cola and PlayStation, and this Sunday, one last spot in the final four of this FIFA 20 tournament to support hunger relief is up for grabs (7 pm ET | FS1, FOX Deportes, TSN).
Sunday's action will kick off with an all-Canadian affair, as Toronto FC, represented by Marky Delgado and eMLS vet PhilB94, will face the Vancouver Whitecaps, represented by Erik Godoy and exraa, one of the most exciting newcomers on the eMLS circuit in 2020. The stage will then shift south as Atlanta United take on Orlando City FC. The Five Stripes, who will be represented by Franco Escobar and young FIFA 20 phenom Paulo Neto, have historically dominated this rivalry on the field, but Nani and Orlando City eMLS pro FIFA Abe will be looking to do what they can to shift the narrative even a little bit.
Each series in the eMLS Tournament Special is composed of two legs: MLS players vs. MLS player, followed by eMLS player vs. eMLS player. The team with the highest aggregate score moves on to the next round, with a golden goal tiebreaker between the two MLS players taking place if the two teams are tied.
NYCFC (Sean Johnson and Didychrislito) took advantage of that golden goal tiebreaker to win a closely-contested Episode 3, which also featured a Hudson River Derby win. They joined Episode 1 winners LAFC (Adama Diomande and RemiMartinn) and Episode 2 winner Sporting KC (Wan Kuzain and Alekzandur) in the semifinals, with the winner on Sunday rounding out the field for the final stage of the tournament on May 17.
