It's been a trying few months for Alejandro Pozuelo, who finally made his move to Toronto FC official recently.

Now north of the border with his teammates ahead of Friday's match against NYCFC (8 pm ET | MLS LIVE on ESPN+ in US, TSN 4/5 in Canada), Pozuelo just wants to play.

"I can be ready Friday if the coach wants," Pozuelo told the club's official website.

Pozuelo is expected to make his debut against NYCFC as the club are "confident that Pozuelo is in proper physical condition to play a part without limitation." He is loving life in Toronto over his first few days.

"I'm very happy," Pozeulo said. "I'm here only two or three days but the people in the city and the club are family. It's like in Spain, the people are interesting."

"My wife and children are the most important in my life," Pozuelo added. "They support me when I'm not good. If my wife and children are happy, then I'm happy, and this is the best city for them."

On the field, Pozuelo can't wait to get started. He's driven and hungry to start picking up points, helping TFC chase the lofty heights the reached in 2017 when they won the treble -- MLS Cup, Supporters' Shield and Canadian Championship.

"One important thing for when I come here is that they want to win," Pozuelo said. "It's important. We need to win, we need to play good. The club have a very good philosophy."
