– Atlanta United traded up to for the top position in today’s Stage 1 of the Re-Entry Process, which featured selections made by Atlanta, Los Angeles Football Club, and Sporting Kansas City.
Atlanta United traded their No. 4 pick to FC Cincinnati in exchange for the No. 1 pick, which they used to select Andrew Gutman (FC Cincinnati). Gutman earned 15 starts in his 21 appearances during the 2020 season, accounting for a career total of 29 MLS games played and one assist.
LAFC selected midfielder Raheem Edwards (Minnesota United FC), a Toronto FC Academy product with five years of MLS experience, including a career total of 11 assists and five goals after most recently appearing for Minnesota United, following time with Chicago Fire FC, the Montreal Impact, and Toronto FC.
With the final pick, Sporting Kansas City selected goalkeeper Kendall McIntosh (New York Red Bulls). McIntosh was previously taken in Stage 1 of the Re-Entry Process in 2019.
