Austin FC have signed forward Christian Ramirez to a contract extension through the 2027-28 season, the club announced Friday.
Ramirez joined Austin ahead of the 2026 season and has tallied a team-best nine goals with two assists in 25 regular-season appearances.
"Christian has earned this new contract through his performances and the qualities he brings to our group every day," said chief soccer officer Khaled El-Ahmad.
"He scores important goals, leads by example and brings the professionalism and character we want at Austin FC. We’re pleased to keep him here, and we believe he has an important role to play as we strengthen the team and raise our standards."
Ramirez is in his ninth MLS season, with previous stops at the Columbus Crew, Houston Dynamo FC, LAFC, LA Galaxy and Minnesota United FC. He's recorded 64g/23a in 210 regular-season matches.
The former US international will occupy a senior roster slot beginning in the 2027 MLS Sprint Season.
"At the start of this season, I didn’t know where I’d be playing. Looking back on it now, Austin FC was the perfect place for me to land," said Ramirez.
"I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to come in and make an impact both on and off the pitch. I know there are big things ahead for the club. It’s an amazing organization with amazing people and fans. I’m happy that my family and I will be staying in Austin."
