Senior Vice President, Game Schedule Management (Media)
Brad Pursel is Senior Vice President of Game Schedule Management for Major League Soccer. He leads the league’s efforts in schedule development and management for the regular season and playoffs, working closely with the clubs, venues and media partners (past and present partners include Apple, FOX Sports, ESPN and Univision in the U.S., TSN, TVAS and RDS in Canada). Pursel also collaborates with Soccer United Marketing, US Soccer, Canadian Soccer Association, Federación Mexicana de Fútbol, LigaMX and Concacaf regarding regional competitions, including the US Open Cup, Canadian Championship, Concacaf Champions League, Campeones Cup and Leagues Cup. He also helps oversee schedule development for the league’s growing reserve division, MLS Next Pro.
Prior to this position in the Media group, Pursel launched and managed the league’s Club Services department for several years, working closely with the clubs in the areas of ticketing, marketing and sponsorship. He started at MLS in 1997, initially working in Game Operations and Broadcasting.
Pursel lives in Pelham, NY with his wife Gretchen, daughter Zoe, son Keller and dog Rusty. He earned his undergraduate degree from Lafayette College where he also played soccer and tennis. He earned his Master’s degree from NYU.
