Gil picked up an assist on Matt Polster's 32nd-minute equalizer that canceled out Brais Méndez's opening goal for Columbus.
The Spanish playmaker then slipped a ball in for Dor Turgeman to increase the Revs lead to 2-1 just before halftime.
Gil put the icing on the cake with a clipped golazo in the 79th minute, his eighth goal of the season.
