Seattle Sounders FC star Clint Dempsey missed Tuesday's training session ahead of Sunday's match against the LA Galaxy, but the club said the veteran forward was still in Seattle.
The 33-year-old Dempsey has not played since Aug. 21, as he deals with issues related to an irregular heartbeat, but returned to light training last week after undergoing a medical procedure on the East Coast.
Interim coach Brian Schmetzer declined to comment on the nature of Dempsey's latest absence, the Seattle Times reported.
