NEW YORK (Friday, July 19, 2024) – Colorado Rapids defender Moïse Bombito and Real Salt Lake midfielder Diego Luna were added to the 2024 MLS All-Star roster by head coach Wilfried Nancy today. The 2024 MLS All-Star Game presented by Target will be played on Wednesday, July 24 at 8 p.m. ET (MLS Season Pass on Apple TV) and features the MLS All-Stars taking on the best of LIGA MX at Lower.com Field, home of the defending MLS Cup presented by Audi champion Columbus Crew.
A native of Montréal, Canada, Bombito has appeared in 17 games (16 starts) for the Rapids this year, registering two goals and one assist in over 1,400 minutes of action. The 24-year-old defender was called into the Canadian Men’s National Team roster for the 2024 CONEMBOL Copa América in the nation’s first-ever appearance in the tournament and started all six games for his country in the competition. The No. 3 overall selection by Colorado in MLS SuperDraft 2023 presented by adidas, Bombito has appeared in 28 matches for the club. Bombito is joined on the roster by fellow Rapids teammate, Keegan Rosenberry.
In his third season with Real Salt Lake, Luna is amidst a breakout campaign with five goals and a career-best 12 assists in 22 regular-season matches with the club. His 12 assists are tied for the third-most in MLS this season, trailing only fellow All-Stars Luciano Acosta of FC Cincinnati (17) and Inter Miami CF’s Lionel Messi (13). At 20 years old, Luna is the youngest player on the MLS All-Star roster and represents the second player from Real Salt Lake on the 2024 roster, joining defender Justen Glad. The dynamic midfielder signed a long-term contract extension with Real Salt Lake in March 2024 and received his first senior call-up with the United States Men’s National Team in January this year.
