Fantasy: Week 4 positional rankings

Reid, Mike, Blayne and Parker sit down to talk about some of the most exciting and fantasy relevant evens from Round 3 and preview the few games being played over the Round 4 international break. Everyone get into the reddit questions this week and they have a long discussion about Prices Changes, the impacts of Rolling Transfers, and Mike's system for Building Team Value. A condensed schedule filled with international absences and byes puts several under-the-radar players on the MLS Fantasy map in Week 4.

Goalkeepers

Luis Robles notched a clean sheet in his 2018 home debut and now he’s back at Red Bull Arena facing a shorthanded Minnesota United attack on Saturday (7 pm ET; TV & streaming info). If you’re short on funds consider Vancouver Whitecaps FC's Stefan Marinovic, who is in a similar spot on Saturday against an LA Galaxy team that has been hit hard by international call-ups, injuries and suspensions (10 pm ET; TSN1 — full TV & streaming info).

Defenders

Lalas Abubakar leads all defenders with 27 points through Week 3, good for sixth overall and placing him ahead of several fantasy monsters including Miguel Almiron, Federico Higuain and Ignacio Piatti. His price has risen $500,000 each week and he should be in line for another hefty salary bump with a good outing against D.C. United on Saturday (6 pm ET; TV & streaming info).

Midfielders

With the condensed player pool, a case could be made for any of the Top 5 midfielders to be listed at the top in Week 4. Higuain managed just three points in a 0-0 draw at Philadelphia in Week 3, but he’s in a nice bounce back spot at home against D.C. United and Pipa should see multiple opportunities to make his mark on the scoresheet.

Forwards

Bradley Wright-Phillips has seen limited minutes through the first three weeks of regular season due to CCL play, but he’s in a smashing spot to open his 2018 account at home against Minnesota in Week 4. Notably absent from this week’s rankings is David Villa, who left several fantasy managers hanging after an unforeseen late scratch in Week 3. He’s a game-time call for Saturday, but it doesn’t sound like NYCFC will be quick to rush him back on the Gillette Stadium turf on Saturday (1:30 pm ET; TV & streaming info).
