Cristian Colman tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during a Tuesday training session and has been sidelined for the rest of the 2018 season, FC Dallas announced Wednesday evening.
The news is a harsh blow to both player and club, with FCD hunting a top finish in the Western Conference standings and Colman himself having just been called up to the Paraguayan national team for this month's international window.
Dallas signed Colman, 24, to a Young Designated Player contract in January 2017. The striker has scored four goals and one assist in 41 MLS appearances (16 starts) to date, as well as two goals in last year's Concacaf Champions League.
