NEW YORK (Sunday, July 21, 2024) – LA Galaxy forward Gabriel Pec and FC Dallas forward Petar Musa were added to the 2024 MLS All-Star roster by head coach Wilfried Nancy today. The 2024 MLS All-Star Game presented by Target will be played on Wednesday, July 24 at 8 p.m. ET (MLS Season Pass on Apple TV) and features the MLS All-Stars taking on the best of LIGA MX at Lower.com Field, home of the defending MLS Cup presented by Audi champion Columbus Crew.
Pec has made an incredible mark with the LA Galaxy in his debut season with the club, recording 10 goals and 10 assists in 25 matches. A club-record signing January, he is the fourth player in club history to record at least 10 goals and 10 assists in his first season with the team, joining Zlatan Ibrahimović (2018), Romain Alessandrini (2017), and Landon Donovan (2005). The 23-year-old Brazilian has been one of the most impactful players in MLS over the last two months and has seven goals and eight assists in his last 12 matches, while helping lead the Galaxy to a Western Conference-best 49 points (14-5-7). The club sits in first place in the Western Conference standings at the All-Star break for the first time since 2011 -- a year in which they won both MLS Cup and the Supporters' Shield.
Musa, also in his first season with FC Dallas, leads the club with 13 goals in 23 matches in 2024. The 26-year-old Croatian striker has scored in each of his last five matches for the club across all competitions, including four MLS regular-season matches, and has eight goals since June 19, tied for the most in MLS over the span. He recorded his first MLS hat trick on June 19 vs. Minnesota United FC, becoming the first European-born player to score a hat trick for Dallas in the club's history. Signed for a reported club-record fee, Musa arrived to Dallas from Portuguese side Benfica prior to the 2024 season after scoring 17 goals in 66 matches across all competitions for the 38-time Primeira Liga champions.
