The LA Galaxy on Wednesday launched their secondary kit for the 2021 MLS season. The Community Kit was born from the club’s culture and features a vertical stripe design in black, tech green, and team collegiate gold that pays homage to the club’s history. The jersey has a modern design with a nod to the past and is inspired by the sights and sounds of the club’s Rose Bowl Stadium days.
“We are excited to unveil the LA Galaxy Community Kit that will serve as our secondary kit for the next two seasons,” LA Galaxy president Chris Klein said in a statement. “We are the club of champions in the city of champions and this classic jersey design pays tribute to that. We are proud of our history and hope our fans love the progressive spin on this retro inspired kit."
The Community Kit is a celebration of the fans who have been with the club since Day One. The name of the kit is intended to celebrate the club’s history, the vibrant community of supporters and the spirit of the city of Los Angeles.
The Community Kit also features a new LA quasar mark on the back of the neck. Both the 2021 primary and secondary kits will again display five stars on the jersey to represent the Galaxy’s record five MLS Cups won in 2002, 2005, 2011, 2012 and 2014. Both kits will also feature the Herbalife Nutrition logo on the front of the jersey, and the logo of the Galaxy’s new jersey sleeve partner, Honey, on the right sleeve. The white jersey unveiled in 2020 will return in 2021.
