It may not be considered a major rivalry yet, but don't be surprised if LAFC and the San Jose Earthquakes develop an intra-California rivalry themselves. On Saturday, the teams will meet in a tune-up match as part of Preseason presented by Advocare.
LAFC
LAFC came back to draw Atlanta United 2-2 at The Banc on Sunday. Trialist Adrien Perez and superstar Carlos Vela had the goals for the Black & Gold.
But head coach Bob Bradley wasn't satisfied with the result and stressed how his team needs to continue working on execution ahead of the season opener.
San Jose Earthquakes
The Quakes recently spent some time in a training camp in Cancun, Mexico, but their return stateside was rocky, as they lost 3-0 to their USL affiliate, Reno 1868 FC, in Reno on Saturday.
Young midfielder Gilbert Fuentes has called preseason so far "one hell of an experience."
