Khalid to Headline Event on August 8 in Downtown Minneapolis
NEW YORK, N.Y. (June 8, 2022) - Rising talent and Twin Cities based singer Miloe is set to perform as the opening act for multiplatinum superstar Khalid during the 2022 MLS All-Star Concert presented by Target on Monday, Aug. 8 at The Commons in Downtown Minneapolis.
Hailing from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Bobby Kabeya (Miloe) and his family made the 7,000-mile journey to Minneapolis to join their father. His interest in music began through watching his parents sing in their church choir.
In 2019, Miloe dropped his debut EP followed by his successful Greenhouse EP in October 2020. Today, Miloe also released his new single “floating,” a plush, expertly-layered and synth heavy track about infatuation.
“Growing up as a soccer player and fan in the Twin Cities, it's an honor to perform at the MLS All-Star Concert presented by Target,” said Miloe. “I’m excited to share some new music and my passion for soccer with the local community that has supported me throughout my career.”
Five-time Grammy award nominated multiplatinum superstar Khalid will take center stage at the MLS All-Star Concert presented by Target following Miloe’s performance.
Tickets for the 2022 MLS All-Star concert presented by Target are on sale now for $25 on SeatGeek.com. All proceeds from the concert will benefit The Alliance, a non-profit organization that focuses on regional equity at the intersections of racial justice, economic justice, environmental justice, and health equity within the Twin Cities.
The concert kicks off an exciting week of soccer celebrations for fans in the Twin Cities. Fans of all ages can attend The MLS All-Star Skills Challenge presented by AT&T 5G on Tuesday, Aug. 9 at 8 pm ET at Allianz Field. Tickets are on sale now, starting at $23 on SeatGeek.com.
The following day, Wednesday, August 10, the 2022 MLS All-Star Game presented by Target, featuring the MLS All-Stars taking on a team of All-Stars from LIGA MX, will be broadcast in the U.S. on ESPN and Univision, in Canada on TSN and TVA Sports, and throughout Mexico and Latin America on ESPN at 8:30 p.m. ET / 5:30 p.m. PT. In addition to the ticketed events, MLS All-Star Week, through MLS WORKS, Major League Soccer’s social responsibility platform, alongside Minnesota United and Target, will be focusing efforts that directly support communities in Saint Paul and Minneapolis. The planned events and initiatives include MLS WORKS All-Star Day of Service presented by Target and the Special Olympics Unified All-Star Game presented by MLS WORKS, ESPN, and Coca-Cola.
