Midfielder Marky Delgado has signed a multi-year contract extension with Toronto FC, the club announced Wednesday.
Delgado, 21, is in his second season with Toronto, and has appeared in 28 games for the Reds this season (23 starts) and scored two goals, with two assists. The former Chivas USA Homegrown product had three goals and three assists in 20 games for TFC last season (19 starts).
“Marky has earned this extension through his consistent production and has developed into a key contributor over the past two seasons for our club,” Toronto FC General Manager Tim Bezbatchenko said of Delgado. “He has been a reliable part of our roster and our coaching staff is pleased with his development and potential as a young player within our league.”
