LAUDERHILL, Fla. — New Mexico left winger Blake Smith may not have stood out in his MLS Player Combine debut on Friday, but he still made heads turn off the field.
Smith (above), projected to be one of the top left midfielders taken in the SuperDraft on January 17, was the only player among the 72 invited to the Combine to place in the Top 5 in tests of speed, agility and power.
Another left winger, Don Anding of Northeastern and Santa Clara forward Erik Hurtado were the only other players to figure in the Top 5 in at least two exercises.
