Rookie's brace leads FCD to win over Revs
Timo Pitter made a good impression on his new team Thursday, scoring both goals in FC Dallas’ 2-1 scrimmage victory over the New England Revolution in Casa Grande, Ariz.
The rookie second-round 2016 SuperDraft pick out of Creighton scored in the 24th and 42nd minutes of the 60-minute match, his first goals in his very first professional match. Steve Neumann pulled one back for New England in the 48th minute.
New England return to action next Wednesday against Real Salt Lake in Tucson, while Dallas will train for the rest of the week in Arizona before returning home Monday ahead of their preseason jaunt to Medellin, Colombia.

Red Bulls explode for five goals in rout of Montreal
The New York Red Bulls attack exploded Thursday to the tune of five goals in a 5-0 rout of the Montreal Impact from the teams’ preseason camp in Orlando.
Bradley Wright-Phillips bagged a brace, while trialist Vincent Bezecourt, Sacha Kljestan and Homegrown Player Brandon Allen all scored for the Red Bulls in a three 45-minute scrimmage sessions.
New York started the match with a lineup mixed with regulars and reserves, with 2015 mainstays Wright-Phillips, Kljestan and Dax McCarty in the starting XI.
While Didier Drogba has yet to link up with Montreal, they had plenty of their stars on hand for the scrimmage with Argentine playmaker Ignacio Piatti, reigning MLS Defensive Player of the Year Laurent Ciman and Italian Marco Donadel all getting the start.
Montreal return to Quebec, where they will next face their USL side FC Montreal on Feb. 13, before transitioning their preseason camp to St. Petersburg, Fla. New York next face Orlando City SC on Feb. 17 in Florida.

Red Bulls searching for defensive identity after Miazga exit
Despite losing young defensive standout Matt Miazga to Chelsea, the New York Red Bulls showed flashes of brilliance in their first preseason match, beating the Jacksonville Armada 5-2 on Sunday. The team may have lost the second game of its doubleheader against Montverde Academy but will be looking to rebound against the Didier Drogba-less Montreal Impact in an early match on Thursday. Montreal kicks off first preseason match of 2016
The Montreal Impact were one of the early winners of 2016 when star forward Didier Drogba agreed to come back for another season after rumors of a possible retirement. While the Ivorian striker is training away from the club in Qatar, the team has been preparing for the new season in Florida. Here's a look at its expectations for the match against New York.

New England look to make it two wins in two days
The New England Revolution may or may not bring back Jermaine Jones, but judging on their performance yesterday against the San Jose Earthquakes, they may be fine without him. The club held the Quakes to a 2-0 shutout win and will be looking to continue that fine form today against FC Dallas in Arizona.
