Four MLS players have been called up by Ricardo Gareca for Peru's upcoming friendlies against Uruguay in the October international window.
Alexander Callens (NYCFC), Marcos Lopez (San Jose Earthquakes), Carlos Ascues (Orlando City) and Yordy Reyna (Vancouver Whitecaps FC) have gotten the nod, as Peru will play fellow South American side Uruguay on Oct. 10 and Oct. 14.
The friendlies won't impact MLS matches, as the regular season ends on Oct. 6 and the Audi 2019 MLS Cup Playoffs begin Oct. 19.
Peru are coming off a second-place showing at the 2019 Copa America, their best finish in the tournament since 1975, and seem to be on the ascent under Gareca.
