The Philadelphia Union gave up an early goal, only to respond with three unanswered to dispatch of USL side Birmingham Legion FC 3-1 in a preseason match played on Wednesday night at the Joe DiMaggio Sports Complex in Clearwater, Florida.
The result gives the Union a 2W-0L-1D record thus far in preseason after a 3-2 win over New York Red Bulls (Jan. 30) and a 0-0 tie against the University of South Florida (Feb. 2).
They will return to Philadelphia for a few days off, before making the trip back to Florida for matches against Orlando City (Feb. 12), Montreal Impact (Feb. 16), D.C. United (Feb. 20) and the USL's Ottawa Fury (Feb. 23).
New left back signing Kai Wagner saw action in the second half. Also coming off the bench was newcomer Kacper Przybylko, who put the Union ahead to stay with less than 20 minutes remaining in the match:
