FC Dallas are reportedly looking to bolster their attack, with Argentine journalist Cesar Luis Merlo saying the club has put in an offer for Dynamo Kyiv attacker Carlos de Pena, a winger from Uruguay who's in the final year of his contract.
While at Dynamo Kyiv, the 28-year-old has logged 15 goals and 13 assists across 65 appearances in all competitions. His other European stops include English Championship club Middlesbrough FC and a loan to Spain's Real Oviedo (Segunda Division), with nearly 100 appearances for Club Nacional in his home country as well.
De Pena joined Ukraine's Dynamo Kyiv in April 2019, and was part of the team that won the Ukrainian Cup during the 2019-20 season. The winger also competed in the UEFA Champions League this season, finishing third in a group with FC Barcelona and Juventus before moving onto the Europa League.
If FC Dallas indeed sign de Pena, he'd be the latest in a slew of attack-focused offseason additions. In the buildup to the 2021 MLS season, the Western Conference side has already added wingers Jader Obrian, Freddy Vargas and Kalil ElMedkhar.
