The opening day of the 2016 MLS season is inching ever closer, but with it comes injury news.
Toronto FC head coach Greg Vanney said following TFC's preseason draw against Montreal on Wednesday that striker Jozy Altidore may not be available for the opener on March 6.
Earlier this preseason, Altidore discussed his new nutrition and workout regimen, taken to help prevent injuries.
“It was always the plan,” Altidore said at the time. “I was going to do it halfway through the year; it's hard to change things during [so I] waited until the year ended [to] try something different. The muscle injuries I've had have been far too many. I've missed too many big moments. I wasn't happy.”
