Toronto FC midfielder Alejandro Pozuelo has been voted by media members as the MLS Player of the Month for September, the league announced Thursday.
Pozuelo scored four goals and added two assists across six games in September, helping TFC end the month on a four-game unbeaten run with a record of 3W-0L-1T in that span.
After dropping their opening two games of the month, in which Pozuelo picked up a goal and an assist, Toronto began their unbeaten run with a 2-1 win over Montreal on Sept. 9 that proved crucial in clinching a berth in the Canadian Championship final.
