With three MLS Defender of the Year honors, more than any other player in league history, Marshall's name belongs among the most distinguished defenders in the history of MLS. Under the steady demeanor and ironman-like durability of ‘Air Marshall’, a number of defensive setups have climbed to the top of MLS in effectiveness. Was named an MLS Best XI for the fourth time in 2018 after receiving the distinction in 2008, 2009 and 2014.

INTERNATIONAL: Marshall was a first choice center back with the U17 and U20 U.S. national teams from 2000-2003 before graduating to the senior side in 2005. He earned 11 caps over the next five years, last featuring  in 2010 before missing the final cut for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

COLLEGE: Marshall spent two immensely productive years at Stanford, starting 39 games and guiding the 2002 Cardinal to the College Cup final. As a sophomore, he was selected to the All-Pac-12 first team before turning pro that offseason.
