Career Summary

A finalist for the 2010 Rookie of the Year award, Ream burst onto the scene in his first professional season. He led the league in minutes played by outfield players, not missing a single minute of the regular season. Known for his excellent distribution skills, Ream, the team’s Defender of the Year for 2010, led a defense that ranked first in the Eastern Conference, and proved to be one of the best defensive sides in club history. The St. Louis native capped off his breakout year by debuting for the United States National Team on Nov. 17, 2010 in a friendly against South Africa.

Professional:
2010: Was named a finalist for the league’s Rookie of the Year award, and was voted club Defender of the Year.  Led the league and club in games played (30) and minutes played (2700), leading the team to a single-season franchise record 13 shutouts. Made MLS debut vs. Chicago on March 27 in 1-0 win. Suffered own-goal vs. New England on May 29. Scored first career goal, the game-winner on Sept. 11 vs. Colorado.

International:
Has earned two caps for the United States National team, starting both matches. Made international debut on Nov. 17, 2010 starting and playing 67 minutes in a 1-0 victory over South Africa in Cape Town.

Collegiate/Club:
Played four seasons at Saint Louis University, earning the 2009 Atlantic 10 Conference Defensive Player of the Year Award after contributing a career-high six goals and five assists while helping the team to post seven shutouts. Was a NSCAA Third Team All-American selection as a senior. Featured in 82 games during his career, missing just one match. Was a three-time NSCAA First Team All-Mid Atlantic Region selection.

Personal:
Majored in business adminstration in school. Ream was born and raised in St. Louis, MO. Enjoys Johnny Depp and Rachel McAdams movies and his favorite book is The Great Gatsby. Is an avid fan of the NHL’s St. Louis Blues. Was a two-time letter-winner in high school in basketball. Enjoys eating at Olive Garden.
