San Diego FC just keep making history.
Star No. 10 Anders Dreyer scored a highlight-reel 72nd-minute game-winner, sending San Diego to a dramatic 1-0 victory over Minnesota United FC in Monday's Western Conference Semifinals matchup at a raucous Snapdragon Stadium.
The result books a mouth-watering Conference Final with Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Saturday (9 pm ET | MLS Season Pass) in a matchup between the top two seeds in the West, each seeking a first-ever MLS Cup presented by Audi appearance.
Monday's match looked like it could be headed for a frustrating ending for San Diego, who struggled to break down Minnesota United's stingy defense for much of the night.
But Dreyer ensured that wouldn't be the case, lashing home the decisive strike past Minnesota goalkeeper Dayne St. Clair, finishing off an audacious backheel assist from Corey Baird.

Three Things
- THE BIG PICTURE: San Diego were widely expected to endure the typical struggles of an expansion side going into their first MLS campaign. Instead, they're authoring one of the great debut seasons in league history, with a chance to fully cement that status if they can make it past Vancouver. With hosting rights and plenty of momentum on their side, San Diego will like their chances, even against a Whitecaps side that's been riding just as high.
- MOMENT OF THE MATCH: As he's done all season for San Diego, Dreyer stepped up when the lights were the brightest.
- MAN OF THE MATCH: Dreyer is the only pick here, although goalkeeper Pablo Sisniega also did his part with some key saves.
