Houston Dynamo FC got a big-time goal from a big-time player on Wednesday night.
Mateusz Bogusz fired home an 87th-minute game-winner to give the Dynamo a 2-1 home victory over Real Salt Lake, earning Energy Moment of the Matchday presented by Celsius honors for Matchday 25.
With Houston in danger of dropping points at Shell Energy Stadium, Bogusz found some magic in the nick of time.
Off an assist from fellow Designated Player and goalscorer Guilherme, the Polish international cut onto his left boot inside the box before curling a spectacular effort inside the far post.
The golazo keeps Houston (43) just three points behind first-place Vancouver Whitecaps FC in the Western Conference standings.
"I am proud of my goal. I had two other chances as well, but I am happy about tonight. I needed this goal," said Bogusz, the former LAFC standout who Houston acquired from LIGA MX side Cruz Azul over the winter.
"I feel like I am playing well and that the team is playing well too. I hope to keep scoring to help the team."
Bogusz and Houston are back in action on Saturday night with a visit to the San Jose Earthquakes (10:30 pm ET | Apple TV).
